درباره کتاب The Omani Trade and Cultural Relation with East Asian Countries
The Muslims’ contribution in development of trade ships manufacturing was an advanced one. They built arsenals on beaches and shores of rivers, and they excel in this art of manufacturing. This art of building ships became famous and well established in Oman, Aka, Saor, Trablus, Beirut, Haifa and Tunis. Their interest was not restricted only to the Middle East but it gets a crossed to the Indian Ocean and Malay Archipelago. The Muslims by then have group of trading ships taking care and exercising sea trade on the eastern and southern seas, Indian Ocean and Red sea. Meanwhile, the Yemen and Omam sea ports became sea trade terminals which most of the Far East commerce pass through to Europe and Islamic world. The Omani merchants whom were trading towards East Asia had played creditable roles in promoting trade and cultural relationships in India, Seilan Island, Sumatra, and Java and in some provinces in China. The Omani ships constantly travel to Canton sea port in China, and trade in Malacca (an island at present Malaysia), Java, Sumatra, Seilan (Serendib) and India.
Actually, the people of south east Asia, such as in Burma, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Siam or Thailand, and people of Malay Peninsula, that is west Malaysia, and the peoplf Malay Archipelago which consist; Singapore, Indonesia or east India islands, Srilanka that is Seilan or Serendib, India and Sanad to the far East, namely; China, Japan and Philipine, came to know about Islam and they embraced it rightly and gradually through their trade exchange and trasaction with Muslim traders whom were the Persians and the Arabs or others from different Muslim nations. With the help of the Omani merchants and the ship owners, we could see that they have brought a meeting point between education and trade and they spread Islam in Malay Archipelago and even until they reached East Indian island with their commercial transactions and educational engagement.
